Anyone can be an Action Area Steward.
As a steward you can be a generalist and attend each of the Action Team Meetings held the third Thursday of each month, or a specialist and connect with a specific action area (transportation,environment, education, public safety, economic development and family life).
There is gatherings and activity going on in Rainier Beach in each of those areas weekly. While activities are being stewarded by particular groups and even individuals , the RB Coalition seeks to connect these efforts to each other for the benefit of all residents.
As Rainier Beach is one of two neighborhoods in the city of Seattle going through a neighborhood plan update effort in 2010 a consistent steward corp will be all the more important.
The Action Team Meetings (ATM) are the place to get plugged in, they are on the 3rd Thursday of each month (see schedule below). ATM’s would be a good way to start tracking down specific groups and individuals organizing on the action area issues. Reading this website will also keep you informed as well.
Action Area Stewards are also asked to provide updates to this website about meetings attended, event announcements and plans underway that are affecting our neighborhood.
Become an Action Area Steward for the Rainier Beach neighborhood. Just reply in the submit a comment box below and state your interest.
ATM’s start at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m and are held at the Rainier Beach Family Center located inside the Rainier Beach Community Center. Go to the reception desk and take a left.

The November 18th RB Coalition Action Team Meeting for November is being cancelled due to a lack of a location. The RB Coalition has traditionally met at Atlantic Street Center’s Rainier Beach Family Center, but due to the renovation of the Rainier Beach Community Center has had to relocate.
In place of the Action Team Meeting the RB Coalition will be conducting an orientation for new and prospective board members on Thursday November 18th at 6:00 p.m. at the Rainier Beach Library. For more information call Gregory Davis @ 20.914.1762.
