Getting connected through a common vision is a step our neighborhood must take in the coming year. Dozens of initiatives have come, dozens more are coming. I am sure all of your previous experiences have reveled the power of people connecting around a common vision. Getting connected is what we need to do. Do you agree?

We invite you to bring this sentiment to the Rainier Beach Town Hall Meeting, January 28, 2010 at South Lake High School, 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. RBCEC and South Lake High School are providing a meal at no-cost to anyone who attends. The goal this year is seventy (70) residents.

The approach the RB Coalition will take to get people connected is to look at the priorities identified at the 2009 RBTHM – see what happened and who did what. These results will be matched with other projects event organizers and attendees are aware of in 2010. All in attendance will help with reprioritization. Breakout groups in the areas of Youth/Families/Young Adults, Public Safety, Transportation, Environment, Economic Development and Education will craft a vision around the priorities.

Here are a few of the ways you can help:

  • Tell us about projects that you know of that positively impacted the neighborhood in a positive way through email  at rainierbeachneighborhood@hotmail.com or on the RB Coalition website (https://www.rbcoalition.org).
  • Get the word out by printing and distributing these flyers:
    RBCEC Town Hall flyer
    Multilingual Town Hall flyer
  • Volunteer to help with some of the practical logistics. Look over this list and sign up!
