Polaris at Rainier Beach Development

 Dear Neighbors,

A community meeting will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at the Rainier Beach Community Center, located at 8825 Rainier Avenue S. in Seattle. The meeting will be held in the Meeting Room at 6:30 pm for the following proposal.

The Polaris at Rainier Beach (“Project”) is a proposed affordable workforce housing development intended to mitigate Seattle’s continuing affordable housing crisis. The Project site is located at 9400 Rainier Avenue S., the current home of the Hong Kong Seafood restaurant and adjacent vacant land to the west. The Project will include demolition of existing improvements and construction of two 5-story buildings over underground parking facilities. A unit mix including studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms and three-bedroom homes is planned, all affordable at 60% or less of Area Median Income. A total of up to 360 units is planned within the development, which may include up to 50 units providing permanent supportive housing to formerly homeless families earning 30%-60% of Area Median Income.

At the neighborhood meeting, the applicant will present an overview of this development proposal, will be available to respond to your comments and questions, and will seek input from community members on the Project proposal.
