On Saturday, September 21st we will have our third and last public meeting at  Rainier Beach Community Center from 11 am-1 pm. We plan to review current draft designs and continue collecting feedback before the final design is shared at our final celebration in November

To enhance community safety in the Rainier Beach neighborhood through youth and neighborhood engagement – an evidence based crime prevention methodology that addresses specific street segments where incidents that contribute to youth crime are high.

Recreating Henderson Street Report

In this report you will find a description of Timelines, Tasks and Deliverables, a roster of people involved, street outreach
findings obtained through three levels of surveys and direct public interaction, meeting notes from sessions with municipal
based (SDOT, Metro, Sound Transit) and recommendations for the Rainier Beach Recreating Henderson Street Corridor

Rainier Beach Action Coalition (RBAC)

is a grassroot, Black-led organization devoted to locally driven development. For over ten years, it has promoted quality education, living wage jobs, affordable transportation and housing, and building community capacity in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood.

Our Mission:

  • Implement the Rainier Beach Neighborhood Plan (1997, 2014) and build a connected, sustainable and equitable community within the Rainier Beach neighborhood.
  • Promote the “made in Rainier Beach”, quality education, living wage jobs, affordable transportation and housing for all.
  • Promote a safe place where people thrive, a neighborhood the world calls home.
  • Build neighborhood capacity to enhance quality of life in Rainier Beach as well as to address critical issues threatening the welfare of Rainier Beach resident.
