Branches, Four Colors

Explore RBAC’s branches in our series, “Four Branches, Four Colors.” From “A Place for Everyone” in blue (economic development, transportation, housing, small business development), to “Lifelong Learning” in black (academic and education advocacy, organization’s operations work), to “A Beautiful Safe Place” in orange (the arts and neighborhood safety), and “Growing Food for a Healthy Industry” in green (farmer support and food justice). Join us on a succinct journey through RBAC’s commitment to the Rainier Beach neighborhood through its projects and its system and policy change efforts.

The Four Branches, Four Colors Fundraisier

There will also be monthly fundraisers that will support each branch, with an overall goal of raising $20,000. The first fundraiser, focused on A Place for Everyone, takes place in October, with a goal of $5,000 to support projects like the Recreating Henderson Project, initiatives to boost local businesses, and our Priority Hire efforts.

The goal for each branch is to raise 5,000 to help launch the necessary work RBAC will be doing in 2025!

This article explores the concept of lifelong learning and its transformative impact on our neighborhood. Through insightful interviews and real-life examples, folks will discover how educational opportunities beyond traditional schooling empower individuals of all ages to pursue continuous growth and development. From skill-building workshops, administrative growth, and fundraising. This piece showcases the copious avenues through which lifelong learning enriches lives and strengthens Rainier Beach.

Grow Food to Develop Healthy Industry (Green)

How do we increase access to food in Rainier Beach?

By bringing power back to our growers and land stewards!

This piece will spotlight RBAC’s “Grow Food to Develop Healthy Industry” initiative, highlighting its innovative programs such as the Food Innovation Center, Farm Stand, and Seeds of Change Network. Folks will learn how these initiatives contribute to sustainability, economic empowerment, and neighborhood health in Rainier Beach, showcasing RBAC’s leadership in fostering a greener, more sustainable future.

How do we keep each other safe?

This piece will highlight RBAC and its neighborhood partners’ efforts in creating “A Beautiful Safe Place.” It will explore collaborative initiatives that address safety concerns within schools and the neighborhood. Through interviews and firsthand accounts, viewers will see how RBAC and its neighbors are working together to foster a safer environment in Rainier Beach.
