Starting on Monday, March 1, 2010, applications for the Seattle Youth Employment  Program (SYEP) Summer Internship Program will be available. There are a limited number of summer internships available.  Eligible youth need to apply quickly! Please see attached 2010 Summer Flyer.

ELIGIBILITY
There are changes for this year’s program so please read the following carefully (as well as the more detailed flyer). The program is open to youth who:

  • Are between ages of 15-17 years old as of Thursday, April 8, 2010
  • Live in Seattle city limits
  • Currently attend middle or high school
  • Are low-income
  • Possess educational and/or employment barriers (see flyer for details)


PICK UP AN APPLICATION
Youth and/or agencies can pick up an application at the Seattle Youth Employment Program (Central Building, 810 Third Ave., Suite 420, downtown Seattle).  The office is open M-F from 8 am to 5 pm. Applications cannot be mailed, faxed or made available electronically.

RETURNING COMPLETE APPLICATIONS
Applications will be accepted until all spaces are filled or by close of business on Thursday, April 8, 2010. Applications must be hand-delivered or mailed to SYEP (810 Third Ave., Suite 420, Seattle, WA 98104). Only originals accepted.

SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS
Youth who (1) turn in a complete application and (2) are determined to be eligible will be enrolled on a space available basis. The sooner you apply, the better your chances of getting an internship.
