Thank you to our employees at RBAC, as March 7th is Employee Appreciation Day!

As we begin kicking off our planning sessions for Spring and Summer activities, we recognize our staff’s impact and leadership, making RBAC a wonderful organization. We work hard and play hard, but most of all, we take pride in being stewards of Rainier Beach, and it certainly shows through our achievements!

Currently, our staff is working on areas to grow our organizational edge. Where can we improve to make RBAC a much better workplace and partner in our community? What possibilities and transformational opportunities can come from our work? We began identifying growing edge areas and are working on better communication skills and team accountability.

It is essential to confront these challenges and encourage one another to be transparent as team members. Throughout the coming months, our lead team of twenty staff members will be tackling the identified growing edges so that we can begin incorporating the solutions into our organization’s policies and procedures.

I look forward to this process because RBAC is full of creative people, and I love learning from them in my operations role.

Speaking of operations, our Facilities Support workgroup has updated the procedures for our Food Innovation Center and RBAC House, and we are excited to roll them out to our team members this month. A part of our Life Long Learning (LLL) Branch at RBAC is training staff from their awareness of a work product to successfully demonstrating the work.

We often practice the principle of “each one, teach one,” allowing our staff to coach and train their colleagues in their respective areas of expertise.

Kudos to our Facilities Support Workgroup for getting all our team members on track to demonstrate their campus stewardship goals.

Best,

Ilays Aden
