Access to education and training can transform lives.

As our city grows and changes, so does the need to create more accessible and supportive learning spaces for people of all backgrounds. Whether someone is looking for a new career path, trying to build financial stability, or simply curious about the trades, these opportunities must exist close to home.

Rainier Beach Action Coalition is launching weekly Construction Trade Awareness Orientations starting Tuesday, July 8, at 1 P.M. at the RBAC Food Innovation Center (Phase 1). These orientations are designed to provide people in our neighborhood with information, resources, and support as they explore careers in construction.

Each session will introduce attendees to:
• Apprenticeship programs that provide paid on-the-job training
• Seattle’s Priority Hire https://www.seattle.gov/purchasing-and-contracting/priority-hire  program and how it supports local hiring
• Available construction job opportunities and how to access them
• Roles beyond manual labor, including administrative and project support positions

These orientations are open to anyone interested in learning more. No prior experience or education is required. The goal is simple: to provide an educational space where people from our neighborhood can explore new possibilities and take the first step toward a meaningful career.
