The season of giving is upon us. As we move into December, we are reminded of the immense joy that comes from giving. Giving is more than just an action; it is a statement of strength used to build community and create change. When we give, whether it is our time, talent, or treasure, we open ourselves to foster connections with others. 

 

As Maya Angelou beautifully stated, “I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.” This quote speaks to how generosity can change not just the lives of those we serve but also our own. Through giving, we are also reminded of the beauty of shared humanity, which allows us to unlock a sense of purpose and joy. 

 

At RBAC, we see the power of giving every day. It is part of our shared commitment to making sure that Rainier Beach continues to be a beautiful, safe place for everyone, a place where residents have access to healthy food and are provided with the resources to thrive as lifelong learners. 

 

Today marks a special day for giving—Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to giving! To honor this special day, RBAC wants to invite you to our Giving Tuesday Donor Appreciation Event, which begins this evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Food Innovation Center Phase 1. 

 

This event is our way of saying thank you for giving us your time, talent, and treasure! We have some special activities planned for our guests, and you can even walk away with some special RBAC merch (the new coffee mugs are my favorite)! 

 

We hope to see you at our Giving Tuesday celebration! Let’s make this season of giving one of hope, connection, and impact.
