Hi everyone!
We are almost at the end of 2024, and that means we are looking back and reviewing a lot of our projects from the year. One that we have been talking about and updating a lot is the Re-Creating Henderson Street Project. We are thrilled to share that so much progress has been made on the program, that we had to celebrate this achievement with all the people in the Rainier Beach neighborhood!
On Saturday, November 23, RBAC hosted its inaugural Walk the Block Party along Henderson Street. The event was designed to celebrate all the milestone work that has been made on the new street plan. The celebration was filled with live performances, food, music, and art, and we wanted to make sure we celebrated the community that helped make the Henderson Street plan possible.
Without you and all of our neighborhood, we wouldn’t know where to start on such a large-scale plan. So thank you to everyone! Thank you to all the businesses, vendors, performers, and others who made the Walk the Block Party happen!
There is still more work to be done with the Re-Creating Henderson Street Project. Making the plan is only one piece of the puzzle. We still need to work and advocate for our community to get all the things we have mapped out, and we already have a big head start! ‘
From recently placing crosswalk art in Henderson to the Be’er Sheva Park improvements that our friends at Link2Lake worked for. Positive change is already happening, and we can continue that momentum if we continue forward!
