You are invited to a special performance of TeenSpeak, written and performed by Rainier Beach High School students, in collaboration with Seattle Repertory Theater.
Date: Thursday, February 25, 2010
Time: 7 pm
Location: Paul Robeson Performing Arts Center, Rainier Beach High School
TeenSpeak uses theatre as a means of tackling broader issues such as race, gender identity and social pressures. During a four-week classroom residency, Seattle Repertory Teaching artists work with students to translatet their experiences into a theatre piece performed for family and friends. Over the past ten years, TeenSpeak residences have been performed with Cleveland High School, Shorecrest Alternative High School and Liberty High School. This year TeenSpeak has been developed and performed with Rainier Beach High School.
