Wisdom Commons/FreedomNet Citizen Journalist Training
The RB Coalition’s FreedomNet project is looking to expand its pool of citizen and organization journalists who will collect and disseminate neighborhood information related to Rainier Beach. The project is intended to contribute to the implementation of the RB 2014 neighborhood plan and to help change the perception of the neighborhood from the inside out. Learn how to post to the Rainier Beach News Wire using text messaging and to post articles to the Rainier Beach Moving Forward website. IPads, Digital cameras are available for loaning from the Wisdom Commons hardware lending library for trained citizen journalists, no experience required. Trainings are each Saturday 11 a.m. to 12:30 at Urban Impact/ECBF Technology Center 7728 Rainier Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98118. . Stipends are available for qualified individuals – youth, members of immigrant and refugee communities.
