On Saturday, August 24, from noon to 4 p.m., the Rainier Beach neighborhood will come together for the 22nd Annual Back2School Bash at the Rainier Beach Community Center, a celebration rooted in care, joy, and preparation for the year ahead.

This event is a reflection of that vision. We know that getting ready for school isn’t just about pencils and paper. It’s about feeling supported. It’s about knowing your neighborhood has your back. And it’s about building a future where every child, every family, and every neighbor feels seen, valued, and ready to thrive.

  • Free backpacks and school supplies
  • Food, entertainment, and activities for all ages
  • Engaging kids’ programming
  • Family resource booths with tools and services to support our neighborhood

Whether you’re a parent, student, educator, neighbor, or neighborhood friend, the Back2School Bash is a space to connect and be reminded of what’s possible when we lead with heart.

At Rainier Beach Action Coalition, our work is grounded in equity and accessibility. The Bash is one way we bring those values to life, making sure our young people head into the school year not just prepared, but uplifted.
