In May we had Dessert and a Discussion on moving beyond Block Watch and envisioning a new future for our neighborhood with Ed Medeiros, the former Executive Director and founding member of the Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA). Ed provided an excellent presentation on the founding of PNA and the wonderful progress it has made over the past 30 years in developing a successful community hub that provides programs, activities and services to the Phinney and Greenwood neighborhoods. His presentation shed light on the potential of building a meaningful organization and community hub in Rainier Beach.

To continue in the spirit of visioning and exploring the possibilities of growing our efforts, we will receive and update from the recent planning committee meeting and discuss possible next steps. We will also be joined by representatives from the Seattle Police Department’s South Precinct to hear an update on community safety and to share our concerns about recent activities and issues.

Come and share your thoughts and ideas. Invite your friends and neighbors and join the movement to build a community hub.

Menu: Pasta, salad, rolls & butter (Please bring a salad and dessert of your choice)
