Many incarcerated people say they are…
SET UP TO FAIL!
Is it whining or is it real?
COME SEE THE JUSTICE WORKS! DRAMATIC PRODUCTION ENTITLED ‘SET UP TO FAIL’ AND DECIDE FOR YOURSELF!
The 30 minute play will be followed by a discussion with previously incarcerated and other Justice Works! members.

when its principles are not compromised…
Justice Works! is a grassroots criminal justice reform non-profit. We work to support individuals transitioning from prison to the community and we advocate for improvements in the criminal justice system. While working towards our mission of undoing racism in the criminal justice system as experienced by African Americans we design each project and task in accordance with our vision which is to provide a safe, affirming and unique community whereby African Americans, with the support of our allies, use self determination to solve problems encountered with or created by the criminal justice system. The Set Up To Fail play helps community people understand the problems. And, we follow the presentation with information about our work creating solutions to those problems. Our hope is to find allies to support this work.

Tomorrow, moms from Wenatchee, dads from Spokane, students from Ellensburg, preschool teachers from Seattle, and so many more will get up early and bring the powerful voice of the Children’s Alliance to Olympia.
Whether you will be among the crowd rallying on the Capitol steps at Have a Heart for Kids Day, or supporting from afar, you can be a part of powering up the movement for kids.
With so much at stake this year, we have stepped up the push for Have a Heart for Kids Day. We have chartered buses from Spokane, Wenatchee and Vancouver. Help power these buses by sponsoring a seat!
The faces, stories, and advocacy of the parents, advocates, teachers, nurses, and grandmothers who will come to Have a Heart for Kids Day are critical to ensuring our state legislators stand strong for Washington’s kids through these tough times. You can help bring these voices to Olympia on Tuesday. Donate $20 today and your gift will sponsor a seat on a bus for Have a Heart for Kids Day.

P.S. Be sure to put your name and message on the I Stand Strong for Kids petition -we’ll be delivering it to key legislators at Have a Heart for Kids Day. And for a little inspiration, check out these photos from last year’s advocacy day.
